Implementation of a PLM solution for a luxury watchmaker - Mews Partners

Problematic

Management awareness at the start of the project: with always more collections, product diversity and technological innovations, this luxury leader is experiencing a vertiginous growth in its development data. At the same time, the reduction in cycles is driving the reuse and strengthening of inter-business collaboration.

The increasing complexity without evolution of the associated processes and tools, presents a major risk. The management then decides to launch a strategic PLM approach.

“The organization of roadshows for the business lines was one of the keys to the success of the project.”

Process

Long-term support: involved from the very beginning of the strategic reflection, we supported the company in defining an ambitious PLM vision, covering product, process and service.

In terms of project management assistance, supporting the business lines was at the heart of our intervention: from the coordination of projects to collect business needs (organization of themes, appraisal of files, provision of expertise, etc.), to the business acceptance phase (writing test scenarios, support for sessions, etc.).

From the beginning of the project, we also supported the change management process through communication actions (explanatory sheets, target vision, etc.), mobilization (roadshows, etc.) and targeted business training.

Management commitment, a guarantee of success: we have been particularly involved in mobilizing top and middle management, by organizing roadshows for the business lines. This was one of the keys to success. Once aware of the challenges and concepts of PLM, management became involved in major functional choices, project strategy and decisions related to the evolution of human resources.

We have brought our expertise around PLM (concepts & processes, benchmark database), as well as our methodology (needs management toolbox, lean/management, change facilitation, etc.) gradually leading the internal team to be autonomous in the pursuit of the project.
